Dr Oliver Hailes is an Assistant Professor of Law and an Associate of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He teaches all aspects of public international law and international arbitration, including advanced courses on energy, investment, and environmental law. Alongside his academic research, Dr Hailes has consulted on a range of legal issues relevant to trade and public policy, including the UK’s withdrawal from the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT), the obligations of States in respect of climate change, and the reform of investor-State dispute settlement (ISDS).
